DESCRIPTION

The headlight leveling ECU assembly actuates the headlight leveling motors according to the vehicle condition.

If the headlight leveling ECU assembly has been replaced, it is necessary to initialize the headlight leveling ECU assembly.

PROCEDURE

1.PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS
a.

Connect the GTS to the DLC3.


b.

Start the engine.


c.

Turn the GTS on.


d.

Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / HL AutoLeveling / Active Test.


e.

Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

2.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY (HEADLIGHT LEVELING MOTOR) - HEADLIGHT LEVELING ECU ASSEMBLY)

a.

Disconnect the A58 headlight assembly LH (headlight leveling motor) connector.


b.

Disconnect the A59 headlight assembly RH (headlight leveling motor) connector.


c.

Disconnect the A60 headlight leveling ECU assembly connector.


d.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:
for LH Side
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
A58-2 (LH T) - A60-18 (LHT) Always Below 1 Ω
A58-4 (LHM+) - A60-11 (LH+) Always Below 1 Ω
A58-1 (LH E) - A60-24 (LH-) Always Below 1 Ω
A58-2 (LH T) or A60-18 (LHT) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
A58-4 (LHM+) or A60-11 (LH+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
A58-1 (LH E) or A60-24 (LH-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
