STEERING COLUMN  STEERING WHEEL  INSTALLATION  


CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

NOTICE:
w/ VSC:
·

Do not replace the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly with the battery connected and the ignition switch ON.

·

Do not rotate the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly without the steering wheel assembly with the battery connected and the ignition switch ON.

·

Ensure that the steering wheel assembly is installed and aligned straight when inspecting the steering sensor.

·

Do not remove the steering sensor from the spiral cable.



PROCEDURE

Hide 84610F 1.INSTALL SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH (TRANSMISSION SHIFT SWITCH ASSEMBLY) (w/ Shift Paddle Switch)

a.

Engage the 5 guides to install the 2 shift paddle switches (transmission shift switch assemblies) with No. 1 switch wire to the steering wheel assembly.


b.

Engage the guide to the steering wheel assembly.


c.

Install the 2 shift paddle switches (transmission shift switch assemblies) to the steering wheel assembly with the 2 screws.

Torque:
0.8 N*m (8 kgf*cm, 7 in.*lbf)

a.

Install the cruise control switch wire.

Align the matchmarks on the steering wheel assembly and steering main shaft to install the steering wheel assembly.


b.

Install the steering wheel assembly set nut.

Torque:
50 N*m (510 kgf*cm, 37 ft.*lbf)


c.

Connect each connector to the spiral cable sub-assembly.
