LIGHTING (EXT) LIGHTING SYSTEM High Beam Headlight Circuit
DESCRIPTION
The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) controls the high beam headlights.

Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following procedure.
·Check the operation of the low beam headlights. If the low beam headlights do not operate normally, refer to Problem Symptoms Table.

PROCEDURE
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.
Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.
- Body Electrical > Main Body > Active Test

- OK:
The high beam headlights illuminate.
- Result:
Proceed to OK NG

Remove the DIM relay from the engine room relay block and junction block assembly.
Inspect the DIM relay.

Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard Voltage:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 1 (DIM relay terminal) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V 3 (DIM relay terminal) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
- Result:
Proceed to OK NG

Disconnect the A43 headlight assembly LH connector.
Disconnect the A45 headlight assembly RH connector.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 5 (DIM relay terminal) - A43-7 (SOL) Always Below 1 Ω 5 (DIM relay terminal) - A45-7 (SOL) Always Below 1 Ω 5 (DIM relay terminal) or A43-7 (SOL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher 5 (DIM relay terminal) or A45-7 (SOL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
- Result:
Proceed to OK NG

Disconnect the 3A instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 2 (DIM relay terminal) - 3A-52 Always Below 1 Ω 2 (DIM relay terminal) or 3A-52 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
- Result:
Proceed to OK NG

Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly.
Click herePower Source / Network>POWER DISTRIBUTION>MAIN BODY ECU>REMOVAL
Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 3A-52 - MB-22 (DIM) Always Below 1 Ω
- Result:
Proceed to OK NG
