MIRROR (EXT)  POWER MIRROR CONTROL SYSTEM  OPERATION CHECK  


CHECK ELECTRICAL REMOTE CONTROL MIRROR FUNCTION


a.

Turn the ignition switch to ON.


b.

With L on the mirror select switch selected, check that the outer rear view mirror assembly LH surface moves up, down, left and right normally.


c.

With R on the mirror select switch selected, check that the outer rear view mirror assembly RH surface moves up, down, left and right normally.



CHECK POWER RETRACT MIRROR FUNCTION (w/ o Auto Power Retract Mirror)


a.

Turn the ignition switch to ON.


b.

At each outer rear view mirror assembly position, check the retractable mirror operation when operating the retractable outer mirror switch.

i.

Move both outer rear view mirror assemblies to the driving position.


ii.

Press the retractable outer mirror switch.


iii.

Check that the right and left outer rear view mirror assemblies move from the driving position to the retracted position.


iv.

Move both outer rear view mirror assemblies to the driving position.


v.

Move one of the outer rear view mirror assemblies to the forward position by hand.


vi.

Press the retractable outer mirror switch.


vii.

Check that the outer rear view mirror assembly in the forward position moves to the retracted position, and check that the other mirror moves to the retracted position.

Move the outer rear view mirror assemblies to the driving position.


ix.

Move one of the outer rear view mirror assemblies to the retracted position by hand.


x.

Press the retractable outer mirror switch.


xi.

Check that the outer rear view mirror assembly in the driving position moves to the retracted position.

Move both outer rear view mirror assemblies to the retracted position.


xiii.

Press the retractable outer mirror switch.


xiv.

Check that both outer rear view mirror assemblies move from the retracted position to the driving position.

Move both outer rear view mirror assemblies to the retracted position.


xvi.

Move one of the outer rear view mirror assemblies to the driving position by hand.


xvii.

Press the retractable outer mirror switch.


xviii.

Check that the retracted outer rear view mirror assembly moves to the driving position.



c.

Check the operation of the outer rear view mirror assemblies according to retractable outer mirror switch operations and ignition switch condition.

i.

When the outer rear view mirror assemblies are operating, turn the ignition switch off and check that the mirror operation stops immediately.


ii.

Turn the ignition switch to ACC and press the retractable outer mirror switch. Check that the outer rear view mirror assemblies operate in the opposite direction.



d.

Check the operation of the outer rear view mirror assembly when it is blocked by an obstacle.

i.

When an outer rear view mirror assembly is moving to the retracted or driving position, block it by hand. Check that stops moving.


ii.

With the outer rear view mirror assembly stopped partway, press the retractable outer mirror switch. Check that the outer rear view mirror assembly moves in the opposite direction.




CHECK POWER RETRACTABLE MIRROR FUNCTION (w/ Auto Power Retract Mirror)


a.

Turn the ignition switch to ON.

When the outer rear view mirror assembly LH and outer rear view mirror assembly RH are in the driving position, press the mirror retract switch in the outer mirror switch assembly and check that they move to the retracted position.

HINT:

If both mirrors are moved to the driving/retracted position by hand, the mirrors will not retract/return with the first switch operation. Another switch operation is required to retract/return the mirrors.

When the outer rear view mirror assembly LH and outer rear view mirror assembly RH are in the retracted position, press the mirror retract switch in the outer mirror switch assembly and check that they move to the driving position.

HINT:

If both mirrors are moved to the driving/retracted position by hand, the mirrors will not retract/return with the first switch operation. Another switch operation is required to retract/return the mirrors.

When the outer rear view mirror assembly LH and outer rear view mirror assembly RH are in the driving position, move either of them forward by hand, and then press the mirror retract switch in the outer mirror switch assembly and check that both outer rear view mirror assemblies move to the retracted position.

When the outer rear view mirror assembly LH and outer rear view mirror assembly RH are in the driving position, move either of them to the retracted position by hand, and then press the mirror retract switch in the outer mirror switch assembly and check that the other outer rear view mirror assembly moves to the retracted position.

When the outer rear view mirror assembly LH and outer rear view mirror assembly RH are in the retracted position, move either of them to the driving position by hand, and then press the mirror retract switch in the outer mirror switch assembly and check that the other outer rear view mirror assembly moves to the driving position.


g.

While the outer rear view mirror assemblies are operating, stop either outer rear view mirror assembly by hand and check that its operation stops. Then press the mirror retract switch in the outer mirror switch assembly and check that the operation resumes.



CHECK AUTO POWER RETRACTABLE MIRROR FUNCTION (w/ Auto Power Retract Mirror)


a.

When the ignition switch off and the doors are unlocked by the entry, wireless or key-linked unlock function or via the power window regulator master switch, check that the outer rear view mirror assemblies move from the retracted position to the driving position and stop in the driving position.

HINT:

If the outer rear view mirror assemblies are retracted by pressing the mirror retract switch in the outer mirror switch assembly, the mirrors will not move to the driving position with the Auto power retract mirror function.



b.

When the ignition switch off and the doors are locked by the entry, wireless or key-linked lock function or via the power window regulator master switch, check that the outer rear view mirror assemblies move from the driving position to the retracted position and stop in the retracted position.
