PROCEDURE

Install a new throttle body gasket to the intake manifold with the protrusion of the throttle body gasket oriented as shown in the illustration.


Hide 22210 2.INSTALL THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY

a.

w/ Stud Bolt:

i.

Install the throttle body assembly to the intake manifold with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

Torque:
10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf)

NOTICE:

If the throttle body assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.




b.

w/o Stud Bolt:

i.

Install the throttle body assembly to the intake manifold with the 4 bolts.

Torque:
10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf)

NOTICE:

If the throttle body assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.




c.

Connect the No. 1 water by-pass hose and No. 2 water by-pass hose to the throttle body assembly and slide the 2 clips to secure them.


d.

Connect the throttle body assembly connector.


Hide 17705 3.INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE

a.

Install the air cleaner cap with air cleaner hose to the throttle body assembly.


b.

Engage the 2 air cleaner cap clamps.


c.

Tighten the hose clamp.

Torque:
2.0 N*m (20 kgf*cm, 18 in.*lbf)


d.

Connect the No. 2 ventilation hose to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly and slide the clip to secure it.


e.

Connect the mass air flow meter sub-assembly connector and engage the 2 wire harness clamps.

Hide 7.PERFORM INITIALIZATION

NOTICE:
·

Be sure to perform this procedure after removing and reinstalling the throttle body assembly or any throttle body assembly components.

·

Perform the following procedure after replacing the throttle body assembly or any throttle body assembly components. The following procedure should also be performed if the throttle body assembly is cleaned.



a.

Connect the GTS to the DLC3.


b.

Clear the DTCs.

Click hereEngine / Hybrid System>2ZR-FE ENGINE CONTROL>SFI SYSTEM>DTC CHECK / CLEAR


c.

Turn the ignition switch to ON without operating the accelerator pedal.


d.

Perform "Inspection After Repair".

Click hereEngine / Hybrid System>2ZR-FE ENGINE CONTROL>SFI SYSTEM>INITIALIZATION


e.

Start the engine and check that the MIL is not illuminated. After the engine is warmed up, check that the idle speed is within the specified range with the A/C switch off.

Standard Idle Speed:
for Manual Transaxle:

600 to 700 rpm

for CVT:

680 to 780 rpm


NOTICE:
·

Be sure to perform this step with all accessories off.

·

Make sure that the shift lever is in P or N. (for CVT)

·

Make sure that the shift lever is in neutral. (for Manual Transaxle)




f.

Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Throttle Sensor Position.

Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Data List
Tester Display
Throttle Sensor Position
50003 234 12

g.

Fully depress the accelerator pedal and check that the value is 60% or higher.

NOTICE:
·

Make sure that the shift lever is in P or N. (for CVT)

·

Make sure that the shift lever is in neutral. (for Manual Transaxle)




h.

Perform a road test and confirm that there are no abnormalities.
