1.REMOVE NO. 1 WITH HEAD TAPER SCREW PLUG

Using a 10 mm socket hexagon wrench, remove the No. 1 with head taper screw plug and gasket from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

2.REMOVE VALVE LIFTER
Remove the 16 valve lifters from the cylinder head sub-assembly.
- HINT:
-
Keep the valve lifters in the correct order so that they can be returned to their original locations when reassembled.

3.REMOVE OIL CONTROL VALVE FILTER

Using an 8 mm socket hexagon wrench, remove the No. 2 with head taper screw plug and gasket from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

Remove the oil control valve filter from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

4.REMOVE INTAKE VALVE
Place the cylinder head sub-assembly on wooden blocks.

Using SST, compress the valve spring and remove the valve spring retainer lock.

Arrange the removed parts in the correct order.
Remove the valve spring retainer, valve spring and intake valve from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

5.REMOVE EXHAUST VALVE
Place the cylinder head sub-assembly on wooden blocks.

Using SST, compress the valve spring and remove the valve spring retainer lock.

Arrange the removed parts in the correct order.
Remove the valve spring retainer, valve spring and exhaust valve from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

6.REMOVE VALVE STEM OIL SEAL

Using needle-nose pliers, remove the 16 valve stem oil seals.

7.REMOVE VALVE SPRING SEAT

Using compressed air and a Magnet Hand, remove the 16 valve spring seats from the cylinder head sub-assembly by blowing air onto them.
