2NZ-FE ENGINE CONTROL MASS AIR FLOW METER ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

Perform the mass air flow meter sub-assembly inspection according to the following procedure.
·Only replace the mass air flow meter sub-assembly when the mass air flow meter sub-assembly value in the Data List (with the engine stopped) is not within the normal operating range or there is foreign matter on the mass air flow meter sub-assembly platinum hot wire (heater).

1.INSPECT MASS AIR FLOW METER SUB-ASSEMBLY
Read the value using the GTS (MAF).
- NOTICE:
- ·
Perform the inspection with the vehicle indoors and on a level surface.
·Perform the inspection of the mass air flow meter sub-assembly while it is installed to the air cleaner cap sub-assembly (installed to the vehicle).
·During the test, do not use an exhaust air duct on the exhaust pipe.
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON (do not start the engine).
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / MAF.
- Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Data List

Tester Display MAF - 50003 234 3
Wait 30 seconds, and read the values on the GTS.
- Standard Condition:
Tester Display Condition Standard Condition MAF ·Engine not running
·30 seconds after ignition switch is turned to ON
0.15 gm/sec or less
If the result is not as specified, replace the mass air flow meter sub-assembly.
If the result is within the specified range, inspect the mass air flow meter sub-assembly.
