DESCRIPTION

The sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly) receives slide and tilt signals when the sliding roof switch (map light assembly) is operated and drives its built-in motor.

If the sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly) is removed and reinstalled or replaced, the sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly) must be initialized.

The sliding roof system uses the LIN communication system. First, confirm that there are no malfunctions in the LIN communication system. Refer to How to Proceed with Troubleshooting.

If a sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly) DTC is output, first perform troubleshooting for the sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly) DTC.

PROCEDURE

1.READ VALUE USING GTS
a.

Connect the GTS to the DLC3.


b.

Turn the ignition switch to ON.


c.

Turn the GTS on.


d.

Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Sliding Roof / Data List.


e.

Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

Disconnect the O16 sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly) connector.


b.

Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

O16-8 (B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
O16-1 (IG) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
O16-1 (IG) - Body ground Ignition switch off Below 1 V



c.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Disconnect the O10 sliding roof switch (map light assembly) connector.


b.

Disconnect the O16 sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly) connector.


c.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
O16-5 (CLS) - O10-2 (CLS) Always Below 1 Ω
O16-5 (CLS) or O10-2 (CLS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
O16-7 (OPN) - O10-3 (OPN) Always Below 1 Ω
O16-7 (OPN) or O10-3 (OPN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
O16-6 (DWN) - O10-4 (DOWN) Always Below 1 Ω
